Xiaolong Zhou was born in China's Guangdong Province in 1960. As a child he became interested in painting and began his formal training at a municipal art school. After graduation from high school in 1978, Xiaolong entered the Art School of Zhanjiang, Guangdong where he pursued studies in stage design and oil painting for the next four years. In 1986, one of his works earned First Place in the National arts Exhibit of the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China in Beijing. Later In 1988, Xiaolong went on to study modern oil painting at the Art School of Tokyo, Japan. Xiaolong has lived in the United States since 1998 and since then his works have been chosen to show at numerous art exhibitions. In 2007, his oil painting, "Persimmons and Chinese Vase," earned Fine Art Connoisseur Publisher's Award of Excellence at the Salon International Annual Juried Exhibition in Texas. Enthusiasts all over the world have collected his many works. Today, Xiaolong Zhou continues to pursue greater achievements in the field of artistic painting.
